LONG-TERM SOLUTIONS FOR MISSOURI'S LONG-TERM PROBLEMS

I’m Geoff Gerling, candidate for Missouri State Representative. After many years volunteering in the community and serving as an active voice in state and local government, I decided enough was enough. The Missouri General Assembly has failed its citizens session after session with mismanagement of our tax dollars, political bickering and a failure to provide lasting solutions to the state’s problems. I want to do my part to fix this broken system. I’ve called Missouri home for my entire life and with your support, we can make our state a great place for future generations.

It's time for politicians to start coming up with solutions instead of just talking about the problems.  Pointing fingers and applying Band-Aids won't fix Missouri's broken economy and inadequate services.  No other candidate is willing to talk about forward-thinking, progressive solutions to our state's problems, which is why I am out spreading the word that there is a better option when it comes to who we elect to represent the 46th District.

Thank you for visiting the site. Feel free to contact me with questions or comments at any time.

NEWS AND NOTES

11 days until the election! I will be out knocking door to door every day of the week up to August 3rd, answering questions and listening to your concerns.  If I miss you and you have a question, feel free to call me directly: 816-456-5889.  No other candidate will offer that kind of open communication!

The League of Women Voters and I are sad to announce that tonight's candidate forum is canceled due to weather concerns.  If this is something we can reschedule before the August 3 election, I will make every effort to inform the voters.

Another endorsement: Planned Parenthood!  This is an important group with a huge reach across the district and the nation. (July 14)

With one month to go, a few more endorsements are on the way.  The latest: Missouri Progressive Vote Coalition.  Thanks to the great representatives from organized labor and various community organizations for showing your support!  The door-to-door visits continue through Lee's Summit, Grandview, and Kansas City!

Check back soon for details about my economic development and community improvement plans. (July 6)

Walking continues as I am making my second pass at neighborhoods in Grandview and South Kansas City.  Thanks to all the nice people offering me water in the heat! (June 22)

Received the endorsement from the Progressive Women's Coalition of Greater Kansas City!  Thank you! (June 17)

I am spending this week volunteering with one of my favorite programs, Missouri Boys State.  From June 12th to the 19th, I will be working with 960 of Missouri's best and brightest high school seniors who will be learning the importance of democracy in all of its forms by creating their own city, county, and state governments from the ground up.  This program means a lot to me and I remember to thank the American Legion for having the foresight to create MBS over 70 years ago.

Through May and June, I have been strongly endorsed by the Committee for County Progress, NARAL Missouri, KC Pride Democratic Club, Rep. Leonard Hughes IV, and Councilwoman Jan Marcason.  More to come through June and July! (June 6)

Mark your calendars for the Women for Gerling event on June 10, 5:30.  Jackson County's most active women will be showing their support for the campaign and the progressive changes our state needs.  Get more details and RSVP through Brendan at brhyne0515@gmail.com or call 816-456-5889.

May will be a strong month for the campaign.  Lots of walking door to door, raising some money, and answering your questions at community meetings and functions.  I have firm support from voters in all areas of the district now!

I will be one of the featured speakers at the Summit Democratic Club meeting this Thursday (4/22) at 7pm.  Come listen and ask questions at 329 SE Douglas Rd, Lee's Summit, MO (the VFW Hall).

Another strong day of walking today in Grandview and South Kansas City.  I visited the Belvidere neighborhood and part of Woodbridge. (March 27)

Met some great people in Grandview yesterday.  Public education and general dislike of the current legislative philosophy were common comments. (3/18)

Round two of walking door to door in South Kansas City and Grandview.  If I haven't made it to your door yet, feel free to send me an email directly at geoff@gerlingformissouri.com (3/6)

Officially filed for 46th District State Representative.  Random lottery put me 4th on the ballot.  I'm looking forward to some favorable weather so I can meet more people in the area! (2/24)

I've been attending some meetings with very concerned citizens; the CCP Forum on Ethics Reform and the Hickman Mills School Board boundries meeting.  It's good to see people that are active in their communities. (2/2)

Thanks to the crowd that attended the Progressive Issues Forum. Great discussion! (1/27)

I took advantage of somewhat favorable weather last Saturday and introduced myself to neighbors on Cherry, Oak and Charlotte streets in South Kansas City.  I'm wearing out my walking shoes pretty quickly! (12/15)

Another great day meeting people in Grandview and South Kansas City.  Thanks to all the supporters across the district! (11/21)

Geoff spent a beautiful Saturday meeting people in Grandview.  Check your door to see if I was in your neighborhood! (11/7)

Geoff has been seen at the Women's Political Caucus Torch Dinner, COMBAT Forums, ProVote Candidate Forums, Jackson County Democrats events, and at countless other events in South KC in the past few weeks.  If you would like the candidate to attend your meeting or event, just ask!

THANK YOU to everyone who attended the first two events!  The outpouring of support from all over the state has been outstanding.

As the year rushes toward a close, I hope you will consider giving financially to the campaign.  Keeping the momentum up will mean a lot in this campaign and I need to count on support of all levels.  No gift is too small; they all go a long way!

My dedicated volunteers and I have been working to plan several events into the winter where you and other members of our community can meet me and discuss plans for the future. Check back soon to see where I’m going next. Contact me if you would like to join my team as a volunteer or to suggest a location to host an event. Also, please click on “Donate” if you can make a contribution to the campaign. Thank you for your support!
